Collaborative Robot Implementation Case | Reducing Injury Rates and Improving Productivity
Automating the glass polishing process! The operator can grasp and operate the device.
At the Saint-Gobain factory in Châteauroux, France, high-value tasks are performed by hand on finished products. In the shift towards Industry 4.0, which aims to free employees from repetitive tasks, the company wanted to automate the labor-intensive process of glass polishing. This required programming complex movements for a small number of different glass sets. With the path recording feature of the Robotiq "FT 300 Force Torque Sensor," operators can grasp the device and perform the movements. The Universal Robot UR10 records this and reproduces the operator's movements. Operators can avoid the common risk of musculoskeletal disorders and pain, allowing them to focus on value-added glass preparation tasks.
